Each ring with hair inside is carefully hand-crafted to your specifications, sized perfectly to fit you, and individually designed to hold your keepsake securely and discreetly within the silver. I only require a small lock of hair (or fur) for each ring ordered. Once I’ve used the amount needed to create your keepsake, all unused hair will be respectfully and carefully returned to you. How much hair do I need for a lock of hair ring?Only a small amount is needed. A tiny lock of hair or a pinch of pet fur is enough for me to create your ring. Any unused hair will be carefully returned to you. If you only have one strand…we can help. 2. Can pet fur be used in a ring with hair inside?Yes, absolutely. Many of my customers choose to include their dog’s, cat’s or even horse’s fur. A ring with pet fur is a beautiful way to celebrate the bond you share. 3. What type of ring can be made with hair inside?Each lock of hair ring is handmade in sterling silver to your size and style preference. You can choose simple, subtle designs or more detailed styles. Just get in touch to speak about a bespoke order. 4. Is the hair visible in the ring?This depends on the design you choose. Some people prefer the hair to be clearly visible within the silver or resin, while others prefer it to be held discreetly inside the ring. Both are possible. If you have a specific look you’d like, then we can do our best to achieve this for you. 5. How long does it take to make a lock of hair memorial ring?Each ring is handmade with care, so please allow 28 days for your order, once we receive your elements. I will confirm expected delivery times when you return your elements. We can sometimes offer an express upgrade for this ring – please get in touch if you have a tight deadline. 6. How do I care for my lock of hair ring? Resin rings need to stay dry, away from chemicals/handcreams/makeup/handsanitiser etc. Avoid smoke & air pollutants. Keep away from direct sunlight and if storing for a long time you may notice changes to the colour over time. 7. What will my ring look like? It can be difficult to predict the finished result of your ring as every ring made is totally unique. The colour of hair can alter the base colour too. White hair can be added to your ring. It will never be totally translucent or invisible – trust me! To get an indication of the colour your lock of hair will look like in resin – carefully dip the lock into water and see how it changes when submerged. (Don’t let go of the piece of hair in water, just dip it in! Dry it carefully with tissue. The finished effect will always aim to visibly show your hair, unless you tell us otherwise. 8. I can’t decide on the colour? Help? If the hair you’re encapsulating is fine, blonde, white or light – a softer and lighter resin colour will be best. The hair can sometimes reflect the tones of the resin. e.g. blue resin with blonde hair might make the hair a little hint of green! If in doubt choose pearlescent white for the most neutral and natural finish, this is least likely option to alter the hair colour you send me. It will coordinate with all your outfits too. If the hair is dark, you can be more adventurous! Dark hair can be set with any of our range of 40 colours. The opposite might happen…tones from the hair may reflect colour onto the resin. There’s no way of knowing as each lock of hair is unique – just like your jewellery.
